The Dyke Mining District is located north of the east arm of the Black Rock Desert. Other names include Dyke Canyon, Florence and Boyd Basin.[1]

The Nevada King Mine is located near Dyke.[2][3]

"Boyd Basin district The Homer Verne mine was operated from April to November 1936 under lease and produced a small quantity of gold ore which was treated by amalgamation."[4]

In 2009, there was some prospecting in the area.[5]

One interesting thing about Dyke, Nevada is how uninteresting it is. Dyke is not covered in Carlson. Dyke apparently did not have a post office as Gamett and Paher don't mention Dyke in Nevada Post Offices: An Illustrated History. Dyke is also not mentioned in ghosttowns.com or forgottennevada.com
