Dodge was a stop on the Fernley and Lassen Railway, between Wadsworth and Numana.[1][2][3]

Carlson states that Dodge was probably named for Major Frederick Dodge, an Indian agent in the 1860's.[4]

Dodge Flat is nearby.

In August, 1965, The Southern Pacific Railway was reported as requesting the closure of the Class "A" Zenobia station and the Class "D" Dodge station and that neither station had handled freight nor passengers in the previous two years. Dodge was reported in handling only freight in lots of less than 5,000 that could be handled by two men.[5]
