The fake history site http://youarehere.pbworks.com/w/page/8190471/Museum081950sEdited forged a document that makes it look like J. Edgar Hoover wrote a memo about flying discs to someone involved in the Black Rock Desert Gunnery Range.

Farrell states that the memo is from J. Edgar Hoover and dated July 15, 1957.

However, http://www.ufo-bbs.com/txt3/2761.htm states that it is July 10, 1947.

The text of the memo is below.

See page 45 of http://vault.fbi.gov/UFO/UFO%20Part%201%20of%2016/view for the original text.

"Memorandum for Mr. Ladd, ["Laison to the Adjutant General, Black Rock Range" FAKE]

"Mr. [censored] also discussed this matter with Colonel L. R. Forney ofr MID (Military Intelligence Division). Colonel Forney indicated that it was his attitude that inasmuch as it has been established that the flying discs are not the result of any Army or Navy experiments, the matter is of interest to the FBI. He stated that he was of the opinion that the Bureau, if at all possible, should accede to General Schulgen's request."

"SWR: AJB (Initials)"

Farrell reports that the handwriting at the bottom is J. Edgar Hoover's:

"I would do it but before agreeing to it we must insist upon full access to discs recovered. For instance in the not readable the Army grabbed it and would not let us have it for cursory examination."
