Vya is a ghost town located near the junction of Highway 34 and Nevada State Route 8A in or near the Sheldon - Hart Mountain National Wildlife Refuge. There is (or was) a highway maintenance station near Vya. James Stolpa walked to Vya after being stranded with his wife and child for eight days in the winter of 1992.
