Donna Schee Spring
Donna Schee Spring is located east of the Jackson Range.[1] [2]
Osmer's November 1865 statement:
- “Broke camp on the 15th at daybreak and marched to Dunshea Spring – distance of 35 miles… Broke camp on the 16th at daybreak and marched to Jackson’s Ranch – distance 25 miles, plenty of wood and water… Broke camp on the 17th at two o’clock A.M. and marched 30 miles in a northwesterly direction, attacking the Indian Camp at Sunrise…”
Dunshea Spring is likely Donna Schee Spring.
Carlson writes that the Donna Schee Peak was likely named by people from Scotland for their resemblance to hills near Aberfoil named Dun Schie or fairy mounds.[3]
